Formal Practice: Take some time to sit peacefully by yourself, and see how deeply you can go into a spontaneous smile. Notice that as you relax a little (particularly the muscles around the face), the smiling becomes easier and more natural.
Informal Practice: Do your best to take a smile with you wherever you go. Cultivate the attitude that no matter what happens, you can smile in response. If you slip up, and don’t smile… smile at your mistake, and continue to take every new opportunity to smile more consistently, and a bit more deeply.
When you feel the smile deep within your being… you will naturally share it with all those you meet!
