In the process of experimenting with and refining Peaceful Prosperity… I’ve decided a new simple mission statement would be of benefit to all of us that share this passion…

Cultivating Consciousness

for Peace, Power, and Happiness!

This sums up my intentions with the site rather nicely, and gives me much clearer direction for the future.

I’m moving towards cultivating greater and greater consciousness in myself and others, and learning to direct it more skillfully towards congruent and ecological goals.

I want to give help that helps  :-)

I think it is valuable to know when to be specific…

So specifically, what do I mean by Cultivating Consciousness for Peace, Power, and Happiness?

I’m going to go into much more detail on this in a series of articles defining these terms, and other terms that are important for Peaceful Prosperity.

For now, I’ll give you some short and easy definitions.

Cultivating Consciousness:  This is basically about building Awareness and Acceptance… which might also be called Mindfulness and Equanimity, or Focus and Relaxation.  Part of this is recognizing and practicing the meditation in everything.  When you practice formally and/or informally, you will detect more and more of a momentum of consciousness… which will not only help you continue your practice, but will give you greater ability in anything you do!

For Peace:  Peacefulness, or ‘getting quiet on the inside’, is what allows you to perceive self and world with much more clarity.  When we cultivate consciousness, one of the first useful places to direct it is inward.  When we can recognize and relax around the torrent of our emotions, we make our entire journey that much quicker and easier.  It is important to note that ‘peacefulness’ doesn’t mean “a lack of activity”.  Peacefulness in the reduction or elimination of the attachments that make emotions seem like who we are.  When you deeply develop Peace, you will still be able to enjoy all the great emotions/feelings you enjoy now… in fact, you will actually be able to enjoy them more deeply.  In addition, you might even learn to enjoy what you now describe as ‘negative emotions’.   After all, it’s just emotional energy… what does it feel like when we let go of the labels?

For Power:  I like the definition of Power that David Hawkins uses in Power vs Force.  The quick version is that Power is acting at the level of true cause… the Morphogenetic field… the realm of energetic patterns.  This is in stark contrast to Force, which attempts to push its way through the world of easily observed events (the level of effect).  E.G.  To threaten a potential ally or partner with pain or loss to get your way is Force.  To negotiate to the point where you and your potential ally recognize and appreciate your mutual values, and work out a win-win solution is PowerPower is always more efficient and far-reaching than Force.

For Happiness:  We’re all after varying shades of happiness… aren’t we?  Now that you have cultivated consciousness, now that you aren’t attached to your outcome, you can safely achieve outcomes in the real world without risk to the well being of others or yourself.  This is real happiness as you will discover…
