Who Else Wants to Experience Real Peace and Prosperity?
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]o wrap myself and this site up in a neat little sentence, We use the tools of Meditation, Hypnosis, and Energy to help students of Personal Development and Spiritual Growth get better results through a single, simple set of principles.
Many years ago, I started seriously contemplating life and happiness shortly after I ended my first long term relationship (have you ever had one of those moments?). I walked away
having the common thoughts and feelings… wondering how much of it was my fault, but wanting to blame most of it on my ex. Out of this, though, a heartfelt desire started to shine through… “There must be a better way to connect with someone… to truly understand… to really feel understood.” This is where I had an insight about meditation and life itself… what I call the classic personal development attitude: You have to take responsibility for your own success or failure. You may not have control over everything, but if you don’t do your best to own the challenge and learn whatever you can from it… you won’t have control over anything.
After much search, study, and practice, I stumbled across some methods of meditation that were not only effective… they could get noticeable results quickly. This gradually developed a real fascination with meditation and exploring the mind. Unfortunately, it was very different from the typical description of meditation. The way I’ve usually seen meditation described is very boring and academic.
I’m highly impressed with authors such as Dr. Glenn Morris… people who have taken meditation back into the realm of ‘exciting, life changing journey’! I’ve found
few things requiring more courage than developing sincerity with yourself about the aspects of your personality you prefer to hide from others (and possibly yourself). I’ve found few things more exciting than digging beneath this to find your deeper, inner truth. This is part of what’s covered in Dr Morris’ book, Path Notes of an American Ninja Master. The late Dr Morris detailed his journey of meditation through anecdotes (ranging from hilarious to frightening) and actual descriptions of principles and techniques.
This is what meditation has been for me… a truly joyful journey… sometimes hilarious… sometimes frightening… but ultimately joyful.
There have been moments in meditation where everything else fades away… and you are able to focus in more and more. On occasions, you may feel uncomfortable with what you discover. On other occasions, you may feel a powerful surge of pleasure or anticipation… deeply enjoying this moment while looking forward to what comes next…
Like Dr Morris, I’ve been blessed to discover a series of amazing teachers… so I’ve studied many styles of meditation, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnosis, and Energy Work.
Much like a kid in a candy store, I have bought and studied as many programs as I could get my hands on: books, CDs, MP3s and Videos… and the momentum of my practice has continued to grow. In 2003 it peaked in a week long state of deep emotional peacefulness and joy.
Now, I’ve turned to the internet and other outlets to find ways to help others uncover their own journey… to this end, I have written 1 published book (Master Meditation, Master Your Life), I’ve written over 400 articles, and I’ve created over 70 YouTube videos covering the topics of meditation, hypnosis, energy, personal development, and spiritual growth.
Out of all this study and practice, one of the most powerful approaches I’ve found is F.A.R. Meditation (F.A.R. Meditation and the B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Method are technologies I’ve developed and explore more deeply with my coaching clients). This is not only a powerful approach to the practice of meditation; it is a powerful approach to deeply understanding how you transform any aspect of your life. Originally, I taught the core principles of meditation as follows:
Relax: Allow your body and mind to relax. Develop a mind-body space of peacefulness.
Focus: Direct your awareness within. Let go of distraction. Notice what comes up. This is a good general practice for monitoring your level of relaxation and subtle emotions that arise in daily life… but it is even more valuable to notice anywhere you are having challenge or significant difficulty in your life. This is easiest at the level of body sensations, but you will learn to be aware of inner sounds and inner images as well.
Accept: Accept whatever you discover about yourself. Gradually make a habit of letting go of all resistance. When you grow more and more fluid internally, you will express yourself more and more fluidly externally.
Relax, Focus, Accept… or R.F.A.
Now I teach F.A.R.
Focus, Accept, Relax.
Why the change?
When you decide to really learn relaxation, you have already realized there is something lacking in your life, or there is something you want to do better. In order to do that, you had to focus on yourself, and accept that there is something you want to change.
So you’ve already started to focus. You’ve already started to accept. Now, once you’ve learned to relax, you can further refine your focus, further develop your acceptance, and relax even deeper. So the process is repeating…
This subtle distinction helps us to recognize that it’s no longer a question of whether or not you can do it. It has become a question of how quickly and how well you would like to do it. Recognizing the problem has become part of the solution. The rest of the solution can be found with the assistance of my products and services, or through the free information on this site.
Here’s one more really cool tip: You don’t have to wait for formal meditation practice to play with the F.A.R. process. You can begin to do it right now. Every moment can become a meditation when you are truly ready for it to be so.
And as we continue to explore this amazing world of relaxation, meditation and transformation together, I want you to know that it really excites me to be sharing knowledge that powerfully changes lives.
