A Course in Miracles… Day 30

by Ben on November 25, 2009

“Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.”

-Marcus Aurelius

But it seems that is often the last place we look…

Before we go any further, I want to offer you sincere congratulations… you have come quite a ways if you have made it this far.

Today, we will cover the 30th game from A Course in Miracles Workbook for Students.

If you haven’t done all the exercises, yet, you can start here: A Course in Miracles… Day 1

Usually by 30 days, you have established a habit…

If you have been playing with these games from ACIM, you have already started to develop the habit of peace and compassion in your life.

Developing more peace and compassion isn’t a matter of adding more practices, thoughts, or attitudes to your life… it is usually a matter of getting rid of what stands in the way… this is one of the goals of these ideas from ACIM… learning to get rid of the nonsense of separation that we have picked up along the way.

Are you still willing to let go of that which doesn’t serve?

When you are ready to accept the Truth that is constantly being spoken to you… your heart will take flight…

birds, heart, flight, A Course in Miracles

You will have to learn to listen through the noise… look beyond the words

…To hear the message beyond!

Are you prepared to truly listen?

A Course in Miracles:  Day 30

The game for Day 30 is:

God is in everything I see, because God is in my mind.

This idea gives the previous few games a little more power.

This is a step past the illusion of separation between self and other.

For today’s game, you will want to practice throughout the day as much as possible.

  1. Whenever you have a moment… say it to yourself…
  2. Repeat it slowly a few times.
  3. As you look around, notice that not only does it apply to all the objects you see, but the images inside your mind, and the act of seeing/visualization as well.
  4. Notice how this is true of hearing, feeling, and all the other senses as well.

This is another step toward overcoming the ingrained sense of ’separateness’… you from me, us from everyone else on the planet… all of us from God…

The ’separateness’ is an illusion… All is Truly One!

A thought from ACIM:

Real vision is not only unlimited by space and distance, but it does not depend on the body’s eyes at all.  The mind is its only source.  To aid in helping you to become more accustomed to this idea as well, devote several practice periods to applying today’s idea with your eyes closed, using whatever subjects come to mind, and looking within rather than without.  Today’s idea applies equally to both.

On your path to real vision… you have to be willing to let go of old perceptions.

They will always be there for you to pick up again should you need them… :-)

But you have to be willing to let them go!

The Peace That Passeth Understanding cannot be achieved, if you are not willing, at least temporarily, to let go of the mechanism you use to attempt to understand.  That mechanism is good for understanding… yet it must be released if you want to go beyond understanding.

This all starts with looking in and accepting… real Mysticism.

A Course in Miracles just gives us some straightforward ideas to help us speed up the process.

Since the ancient Roman Emperor started us out so well… I will let him finish too.

“The first rule is to keep an untroubled spirit. The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are.”

-Marcus Aurelius

I don’t know if Marcus Aurelius was talking about the omnipresence of God, or what I like to call Energy Oneness… but that quote is an excellent summary of the Mystic path, regardless.

keep smiling,

Ben
