A Course in Miracles… Day 20

by Ben on November 6, 2009

“I am determined to see!”

-ACIM

This is a meditation for life… and it is critical to cultivate this goal.

The instant reply is “But I can already see…”

If you have been practicing the games from A Course in Miracles… you will know that the majority of your ’seeing’ is projection…

We see what we want to see…

Even if it isn’t what we ‘consciously’ want to see.

The goal here… is to truly see.

In moments of clarity, when you truly see… any aspect of the world can become profoundly beautiful…

How do we develop true sight?

It starts with intent.

A Course in Miracles:  Day 20

The game for Day 20 is:

I am determined to see.

This is (for me) the most potent lesson in A Course in Miracles thus far.

This, again, is Real Mysticism!

I have come back to this one several times.

The Course recommends that we state this idea slowly and positively (with intent and intensity) at least twice an hour throughout the entire day.

I would also encourage you to tap your most powerful EFT points… or hold them as you breathe deeply and repeat:  “I am determined to see!”

From ACIM:

We have been quite casual about our practice periods thus far… This approach has been intentional, and very carefully planned… You will not see if you regard yourself as being coerced… This is our first attempt to introduce structure.

I recognize that there is no convincing anyone of the power of these exercises.

Play the Games!

You will only really understand after sincere practice and play.

If you are really determined to see… and you continue to practice and play… you will feel yourself begin to transform

It is important to cultivate real motivation for this task.

If you already feel highly motivated… excellent!

The exercises will carry you where you are going.

If you are still working on cultivating motivation… let me offer you an example of how I did the same.

My primary 3 motivations:

  1. I want to accomplish this just for me… I truly want to see.
  2. And I also want to cultivate this for the world… in some way, everything I do has an effect on the world… and the advances that I make will make it easier for others to do the same.
  3. And I am father to a little girl who will be born in March.

If my other motivations don’t carry me through… I have to be able to do what I want to teach my daughter to do.

There are no true teachers who have not done what they intend to teach.

keep smiling,

Ben

P.S. My wife and I aren’t certain on a name, yet, but we are strongly leaning toward Teruko for her middle name. It means ’sunshine girl’.
