The only thing that can begin to describe the “Zen Experience” is a metaphor.
Zen can be a step into nothingness…
Zen is your doorway into true insight…
Two metaphors…
Two statements that are designed to take you out of your day-to-day experience.
A hypno-therapist might describe them as trance-inducers… because what exactly is “nothingness”… what exactly is “true insight”… pay attention to what happens when you consider this!
It doesn’t matter how you choose to embrace Zen…. because you can choose to accept this wisdom, and you don’t have to accept it… or you can choose to accept it and not accept it… because ultimately this is about the ability to have more choice in your life… and we all want more choice, don’t you?
Sometimes you might not completely understand and absorb everything that is said here right away (at least on the conscious level)… and that’s okay too.
Zen statements are often difficult to understand consciously… hence they are a doorway into expanded consciousness. They often generate confusion… the key to the doorway is A2… particularly acceptance. When you apply A2 to confusion, you transcend confusion…
What is it like to transcend confusion…
Zen, among other things, is a step out of what is typically referred to as thought.
When you see a “Zen” statement, allow it to take you where it may. If it brings confusion, that’s okay. If it brings a smile to your face, that’s okay. If it leads you to say “Fuck This! I’m reading something else!”… that’s okay too.
Enjoy the experience!
keep smiling,
ben
